Your habits define your life. Every little thing you do daily builds the routine that you’re stuck in.

You curse the lack of focus, indiscipline, and poor sleep for a terrible routine that makes success seem like a far-fetched thing.

But your subconscious habits decide how you live. You follow a routine subconsciously without realizing the harrowing impact it has on your life.

Here are the simplest habits that you can follow to fast-track personal growth and change your life in a few months.

1. Don’t do this first thing in the morning

Your phone has become an extension of your arm. It’s the first thing you do after waking up.

You check your phone the first thing in the morning. You shut off the alarm and proceed to waste away the precious morning.

A few scrolls right after waking up can, in fact, ruin your entire morning. It is the truth that we ignore daily.

You wake up with high cortisol levels, so consuming content only puts more strain on your brain.

Stay away from your phone. It’s the easiest thing you can do on your self-improvement journey.

2. Leave work at work

There was a time when I used to pop melatonin supplements like mint because I was unable to disengage from work.

I would twist and turn in the bed till the wee hours of the morning, thinking about ideas, planning, and strategizing. I used to keep a diary at my bedside to record every good idea.

It helped my business, but in the end, my health ended up paying a high price in the long run.

These sleepless nights wrecked my focus and led to a barrage of headaches that can never be treated with a single dose.

It made me moody and destroyed my mental health as the sleepless nights led to major anxiety during the day.

I fixed this mammoth of a problem with one simple habit: shut off your laptop and, along with that, your brain at least two hours before bed.

Disengage from your work to perform better and boost creativity in the long run.

3. Learn how to think properly

We live in an amazing time where all the information in the world is accessible at the push of a button.

So, we consume more than we can ever produce. But you need to consume good content to create better, the best source being books.

Reading challenges have ruined reading just as much as reels. Reading is not a race; everyone learns at their own pace.

Relearn how to read a book again without pressure. Read, but remember to stop and think about what you learn.

Ponder over what grabs your attention. Use your brain to think and come to a conclusion.

4. Add physical activity to the mix

A sedentary lifestyle ruins your health. It’s a truth that everyone knows, yet most of us don’t do anything about it.

I used to sit for hours without any break; it broke my back and, along with that, my mental health.

Minimal activity wrecks your productivity and focus in the long run. But you can break the spell of a sedentary lifestyle with a simple habit.

A small walk after every meal will help you form a more physically active routine.

The meal is a perfect activity for habit stacking. So, go on a walk daily after the meal to boost your health easily.

5. Drop this habit while having a meal

A meal is the perfect way to take a break during a hard day. But you spend this time sitting in front of the screen, filling your mind with more content.

You waste this time when you could be utilizing it for a better habit.
There’s one habit that’s proven to boost happiness more than anything else.

A shared meal with friends and family will help you stay happy in the long run. It’s the one habit that makes the biggest impact on mental health.

So, form a strong connection with real people who support and love you.

6. Make this saying a part of your daily routine

Self-improvement is a difficult road, but you have to keep going on. But there are some habits that are more difficult than ever.

One of them is accepting that you don’t know everything. The ego is the reason behind all arguments.

The stubborn ego will keep on leading to clashes till you learn to accept that you don’t know everything.

But most people would rather make up crazy stories than agree they don’t know.

They would rather tell a half-baked truth and follow along WhatsApp forwards than accept they don’t know the answer.

This ignorant habit will kill your curiosity, which will impact your productivity in the long run.

7. Learn to be a beginner

Learning new skills is the most important step of the self-improvement journey.

Life-long learning is the key to a better life. You need to keep expanding your horizons to learn more about new things.

That’s how you develop a better interest, which can lead to mindful hobbies that can help you boost mental health in the long run.

In Closing

Simple habits are the gateway to self-improvement. A good life is only a few habits away.

So, start today before it’s too late. Easy habits peppered in your daily routine will boost your personal growth in the long run.
